January Events

Back with a new line up of January Events. Coming up in 2021, I will be shifting gears, covering wine regions but also looking at some other aspects of Italian history and culture.

January 16th- Wines of Abruzzo Molise
First wine talk of 2021! We will be looking at the often-overlooked regions of Abruzzo and Molise. With an emphasis on the wines of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, we will look at other traditional varieties as well. As always the talk will be 7 euros and will last about an hour. January 23rd – An Intro to the Italian Mafie
A step away from Italian wine, I thought it was time we talk about an aspect of life in Italy many don’t understand or look at. Even to this day multiple organized crime groups manage and direct the economy and society of Italy.
This talk will not be looking at the romanticized pop culture of the Mafie that many know. It will be a look at the history of 4 of Italy’s Mafia groups, their current situation, and names to know in the historical anti-mafia movement. All proceeds will be donated.

January 30th- Veneto Wine Chat UPATE: Feb 6th is the new date!
This time around we are going to take a look at the wines of Veneto, one of Italy’s most productive regions. Prosecco is the region’s most widely known wine, but long before Prosecco, Veneto was making remarkable red wines from their trio: Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes. Click the link above for info or visit: venetowine.eventbrite.com
