March in Italy means Spring is already here, even by the start of the month we start having warm weather and see flowers popping up. Other than the start of Spring, March marks the birthday of Pier Paolo Pasolini, Dante Day, the Ides of March, International Women’s Day and Fathers Day! This month I tried to pick a few of my favorite themes for the March desktop & mobile backgrounds. Scroll down to check them out, and keep an eye out over on IG to learn more about all the special dates coming up this month.
International Women’s Day- Mimosas
A sign of International Women’s Day- the Mimosa flowers which have begun to bloom all around Italy. Here are two versions of the Mimosa flower background:
The Ides of march & Rome
The ides of March, refers to March 15, the day the Julius Caesar was assasinated, even today Romans pay a visit to Caesar’s tomb in the Roman forum and leave flowers.
Dante Day & Florence
March 25 supposedly marks the day that Dante begun his long journey of the Divine Comedy. Thus, we now celebrate Dante Day every March 25th! This year is special because 2021 marks the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death. I decided to bring you one of my favorite Dante quotes and a little window to Florence.
Nothing feels more like spring in the city than the little ape’s filled with flowers for sale. I found these images and thought they went perfectly with our Springtime in Italy feelings. Enjoy!
